Pakistan is a cultured and civilized country and it’s all customs and cultures have an Islamic touch, but some part of the country also have some different ways than its culture. Shadi or wedding is a tradition and it is sunnah being a Muslim, shadi or marriage is celebrated in all over the world and all cultures and traditions and religions permit for wedding. Shadi customs are different in different parts of the world and they varies from regions to region and country to country. However, the aim is the same and that is to unite a couple after a marriage or shadi. In Pakistan and India the marriage traditions are about same, but in Pakistan it is a very colorful event and family members and friends participate in it.

Shadi events start from an engagement ceremony, which is a proposal from boys family to girl family for that particular girl. In this ceremony girl wear an engagement ring, which is usually a gold ring, after this time is not mentioned some people goes from groom to bride house for marriage ceremony in which Nikkah ceremony is take place in this ceremony in the presence of witnesses the bride and groom agree to spend their life together and they sign a paper known as a Nikahnama. Then, according to Islam an Imam recite Khutba of Nikah and then at last both families wishes the couple for future happy life. In these ceremonies guests and friends are entertained with rich food, music and dance. In Pakistan it end in three to four days.
